Name :Phạm Thị Lan
Class E20
                                            Entry 4
                                     Argument Errors
Item 1:"Đây là hội nữ sinh giàu nhất trong trường; vì thế Mary, một thành viên trong đó, phải là một trong những người giàu nhất ở trường."
 Fallacies of hasty generalization
Premise : A is the  richest school  girls at school
Premise 2: Mary is in A
Conclusion : Mary is one of the richest people at school

Analyze: False Analogy :Mary is in A for many reasons. She may be one of the richest; or she may be one of the poorest.  It doesn't matter whether the conclusion is true or not in the literal sense.  The argument is illogical.  It means nothing at all to say that, if a group has a certain quality, then a member of the group must have that quality, too. So it is not convinced conclusion.

Item 2:   Either you love me or i kill you.
False Dilemma:
Premise : you choose to love me or not
                you don't love me
                 => i kill you
Analyze:
The speaker set up this false dilemma to attempt to draw his argument in simple black-and-white terms, and pointing out that he is  using the false-dilemma logical fallacy is the best way to counter them as it points out the weakness of his argument rather than trying to play on his terms.

Item 3:
Interviewer: “Your resume looks impressive but I need another reference.”
Bill: “Jill can give me a good reference.”
Interviewer:”Good. But how do I know that Jill is trustworthy?”
Bill: “Certainly. I can vouch for her.”
Fallacy: begging the question .
Premise : Jill is trustworthy
Premise 2:Bill can vouch for her
ð  Jill is a good reference
Analyze:
Content fallacies : the premise claim that the conclusion is true or assume that the conclusion is true. This is fallacies assert because it simply assuming that the conclusion is true in the premises which does not constitute evidence for that conclusion.
