Lý lịch ba đời

Hai anh bạn nói chuyện với nhau:

- Tại sao anh có người yêu xinh xắn, hiền dịu, có bằng cấp mà lại xù cưới?

- Bố mẹ tôi đã xem kĩ lý lịch ba đời nhà cô ấy rồi.

- Có người mắc bệnh di truyền?

- Không, ba đời nhà cô ấy toàn đẻ con gái không.

Hasty generalization: Writer’s logic:

-          Her family’s 3 generations give birth to only girls

-          She is member of the family

=> She will give birth to girl only.

However, 3 generations of the girl’s family give birth to girls only doesn’t mean that she will give birth to girls. The child is girl or boy depends on both the father and mother.

Item 2:

- False of presumption: False dilemma

- Analysis: This is a slogan to state the patriotism of American and American citizens. It means that “If you don’t love America, leave it”. Actually, there are still some other choices could be happened. For example, someone doesn’t love America but they are forced to work in there so they have to live in America.

-          Slippery slope:

If you use Pond’s Flawless White

then your skin will be whiter and brighter

then you will look much more beautiful

then you can attract your boyfriend

-> You can save your love!

The premises here are not strong and persuasive enough to come to conclusion that: They had a happy ending thanks to Pond’s Flawless White.

In fact, if you want to preserve your love, attractive appearance is not enough. It depends on a lot of factors such as your personality traits, the compatibility between two of you…
